Rose Mary (Kohlhaas) Weis, 91 died May 20, 2024 at Monument Health in Spearfish.

Rose was born on July 18, 1932 to Persis (Jones) and Fred Kohlhaas on a farm near Genesee, Wisconsin. She attended high school in Waukesha, Wisconsin. She married Wallace L. Weis on August 13, 1949 in Waukesha. The couple moved to Artesian, SD in November of 1952. Rose worked at various places including Wally's Texaco in Artesian, Methodist Hospital, Syncom and Perkins in Mitchell, SD.

Rose is survived by three sons; Dean (Connie) Weis of Spearfish, SD, Rodney (Laurie) Weis of Spearfish, SD and Allen (Tammy) Weis of Chancellor, SD, one daughter, Ruth (Terry) Smith of Vale, SD, 13 grandchildren and spouses, 34 great-grandchildren and spouses and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Weis, three sisters, Katy, Marie and Fern, one brother, Arthur Kohlhaas and three great-grandchildren; Mckenzie Leonhardt, Kenadi Weis and Carter Leonhardt.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish, visitation will began one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.
