Obituary

Zachariah Michael Antuna, 43, of Spearfish, SD, was called home to Jesus on October 12, 2023.

Zach, son of Raymond Antuna and Brenda (Stoneberger) LaBau, was born March 3, 1980 in Spearfish, SD.  He was raised in Spearfish and graduated from Spearfish High School in 1998.  After graduating from high school, Zach joined the US Army, where he proudly served 3 years as an Airborne Infantry Soldier.  He was stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska, one of his favorite places on Earth. The comradery of the Army was his favorite part, and he developed many deep friendships during that time.

Zach was such a bright light and gentle soul. He never met a stranger. He was the type of guy who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved and cherished. He had a huge presence and an even bigger heart. He would do anything to help those around him if he could. He was a natural leader and could persuade anyone to do anything. Zach was a loving brother and son, a loving father and partner, a talented artist, and a tremendous athlete, always wearing his favorite number 12. There wasn't anything that he tried that he wasn't good at. Zach was a jokester never taking life too seriously. He was always playing pranks, dropping sarcastic one-liners, and making people laugh. He had the most contagious laugh and smile. It could brighten anyone's day. If it wasn't his bright smile or laugh that gave him away, you could always see him coming by the German Shepherd he had by his side. He never went far without his beloved companions. Zach was an avid fisherman and "rippin' lip" was one of his favorite things to do!

Aside from being so talented, Zach's greatest accomplishment was being a father. He was an amazing father to three beautiful children: his two sons, Aiden (Vicki Wilks) and Xander (Jamie Krueger), and his stepdaughter Taylor (Jamie Krueger). Zach was so proud of all three of his children and he never missed an opportunity to tell someone all about them. From teaching them how to fish and hunt, to coaching their sports, taking them hiking, snowboarding and just adventuring, Zach was happiest when he was with them.

Grateful to have shared life with him are Jamie Krueger, and their children Taylor and Xander;  Vicki Wilks and their son, Aiden;  his father, Raymond (Rachelle) Antuna, Dylan, Dusty and Cyrus, Spearfish, SD; his mother, Brenda  (Keith) LaBau, Aaron, Belle Fourche, SD; sisters Chrissy (Mason) Montgomery, Brekyn and Camden, and Kelsey (Tony) Ruzicka, Reed and Lennyn, Belle Fourche, SD; maternal grandparents, Kim and Dorothy Keller, Yuma, AZ, and Vicki Stoneberger, FL; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as numerous friends.

Preceded in death and greeted in Heaven by his paternal grandparents Mary and Sigel Antuna, Sr, his maternal grandfather Tod Stoneberger, his great grandparents, and many other close relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 20th at 10 AM at Connection Church in Belle Fourche.  Lunch will be provided.  A military service at Black Hills National Cemetery will follow at 12:30 pm.  All are welcome to attend.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Interstate Bank in Spearfish to benefit Zach's children.  The service will be live-streamed on the churches link.  https://control.resi.io/webplayer/video.html?id=c64abfeb-76d3-4ffc-a9b9-8a7f6ec62ff3
