William David Peterson, 76, Lead, SD passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 28, 2020.

Bill was born on July 29, 1943 in Detroit, MI to Vernon S. Peterson and Ruth L. (Pfefferle) Peterson. Growing up, Bill was an exceptional student and athlete. After graduating from Dell Rapids High School in 1961, Bill attended South Dakota State University where he graduated with a pharmacy degree in 1968.

Bill was a dedicated pharmacist with an unmatched work ethic. In total, he passionately devoted fifty years of service to his career retiring only months before his passing.

In his free time, Bill enjoyed spending time with family, watching sports and doting on his pets, especially his beloved dog, Ming. He will be remembered as a warm and loving father and brother, proud grandfather, and dear friend.

Bill is survived by his three children: Justin (Jessica) Peterson, Sioux Falls, SD; John (Laura) Peterson, Lebanon OR; and Virginia Peterson, Pierre, SD; two grandchildren Oliver and Vivian Peterson; three siblings Vernon (Cheryl) Peterson, Mt. Lake, MN; Raymond Peterson, Mankato, MN; and James Peterson, Mt Lake, MN; seven nieces and two nephews. Bill will also be missed by his former spouse, Barbara Sprinkel of Lead, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
