Obituary

Wiliam Leeper 76, of Sun City, Arizona, died on May 7, 2010.

Graveside Services will be at 12:30 P.M. on Monday, July 5, 2010 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish, SD with Pastor Andrew Carsrud officiating.

Bill was born on July 30, 1933 and lived his early years in Nemo, SD and Spearfish, SD. In the few years after his 1951 graduation from Spearfish High School he married Joan McCain and did a stint in the army. After military service he returned to college where he graduated from Black Hills State College in 1958 with a B.S. degree in education (math and science). He taught HS math and science in Custer, SD, for two years while attending summer school at Colorado State College, where he earned a master's degree in school administration in 1961. After teaching one year in Bremerton, WA, he accepted a teaching position in Powell, WY where he and Joan raised their family and resided for 36 years until their retirement. They moved to Sun City, AZ in 1996 and enjoyed many years of retirement together prior to his death.

He is survived by Joan, his wife of 57 years, sons Craig (Bev) of Las Vegas, NV and Howard (Barb) of Rock Springs, WY and daughter Janet (Cliff) Gilstad of Grand Junction, CO; grandsons Carl Bennett and Steven Bennett; and great-grandchildren Jayd, Cami, Lynndie, Sterling, Gage and Dakota.
