Bill, the eldest of six children was born in 1914 just south of Deadwood, SD on what was then the Glover ranch. As a small boy he traveled with his parents in a team and wagon and trailing a few cattle to homestead at Oshoto, WY. He attended elementary grades in country schools and high school in Hulett. In 1934 Bill married his wife of 59 years, Helen Theresa Noonan. Bill was a "jack of all trades" and there was very little he could not, or would not do, to make a living for his family. He worked for the railroad in road and bridge construction, as a ranch hand, a mechanic/welder and as an owner/operator of a coal mine in the Big Horn Basin. In the late 1930's, Bill returned with his family to the Glover homestead, where he ranched for many years. In the 1940's, during the war he was an owner of a dirt moving equipment business and built many dams and reservoirs throughout WY. In the late 1950's he owned and operated a ranch at Marmouth, ND. In later years he ranched at Colony, WY. Bill had a reputation for being a good mechanic and loved that work. He was a mechanic on government missile sights built throughout SD, and for Baroid Betonite. He also did a lot of private mechanic work throughout the country. He retired on several occasions. During one of his retirements he and Helen purchased a motel, campground and laundromat at Dayton, WY, which they later sold. Bill and Helen semi-retired and lived at Aladdin, WY until her death. In 1998 Bill married Mary Keck and they had five happy years until Mary passed away. Until just recently Bill lived independently in his home in Spearfish.
Bill was a member of the United Methodist Church, Belle Fourche, SD. He was a Master Mason in Tower Lodge #44, A.F. & A.M., and Past Master of Marmouth Lodge #117 in ND.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Shelton and her husband, George "Marty", Helotes, TX; two grandsons, Michael Denzin and wife Anne, Lansdowne, VA; Bradly Denzin and wife Suzanne of Collierville, TN; and six great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen, in 1993; his second wife, Mary in 2003; his son Billy Lee Glover, killed in a car accident in 1965 and 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Arrangements have been placed in the care of Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapels of Spearfish.
