Wallace R. Canfield, 81 of Sundance, WY passed away December 31, 2010 at home of natural causes.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 5, 2011 at
the Sundance United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 5-7 P.M. at Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance.
Wallace was brought into this world as a twin to Willard and Ada (O'Haver)
Canfield on May 1, 1929. Wallace was raised and educated on his
family homestead along with his brother and 4 sisters. He continued to
live on the homestead through his entire life raising his family there
working the land as a rancher and teaching his family the way of life.
Wallace married the love of his life Anna Frederiksen on July 11, 1952
and they began their life long journey together. The two had 7
children, 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He loved to be
around his family, smiling and teaching them in every way, he also liked to
pull pranks on them all the time, his mind was always working. Wallace
was also a hunter, fisherman, and cattleman. Wallace was involved in
the Upton Livestock Yard Board, Upton CO-OP Assn., fair board and
school board in Sundance.
Wallace is survived by his wife of 58 years Anna Canfield, sons, Gary
Canfield of Sundance and Dave (Jackie) Canfield of West Yellowstone,
daughters; Carolynn Canfield of Gillette, Marilynn (Dick) Rodgers of
Gillette, Cindy (Boe) Madsen of Gillette, Sue (Jerry) Scribner and Judi
(Bill) Sipe of Sundance, twin sister, Wanda Materi of Upton, sister,
Rachel Junek of Newcastle, his special companion, Nemo the dog, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins, special family friends Bill and Ruta Gartman of Sundance and Christe Canfield of Sundance.
Wallace was preceded in death by both parents, brother, Kenneth
Canfield, sisters, Leona Roberts, and Caroline Canfield, grandchildren
Les Sipe, Dorothy and Miranda Madsen.
In lieu of flowers a memorial account has been set up at Sundance
State bank in Wallace's name.
