Vivian S. Kuhns, 83 of Spearfish died Monday, October 6, 2008 at Spearfish Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be from 3:00PM until 7:00PM on Friday, October 10, 2008 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.
Funeral services will be at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Church of the Nazarene in Spearfish, with Pastor Kelly Lovelace officiating. An additional memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Church of the Nazarene in Huron, SD with Reverend Bill Boehm officiating.
Memorials will be given to the Church of the Nazarene in Spearfish.
Vivian Susie Hofer was born December 3, 1924 on a farm home in Spink County to John E and Susie (Wipf) Hofer. She grew up on a farm, attended Ash Grove School, and attended Doland High School. She married John Kleinsasser on October 1, 1941 and shared 37 years together.
In 1952 they moved to Huron, SD, where she began to work for the Huron Cleaners as a presser for many years. In 1978 John passed away.
While living in Huron, she attended the First Missionary Church. The time came when she realized to accept the Lord as her Savior. Later she was baptized and become a member of the Church and helped with Sunday school.
In 1986 she married George Kuhns with whom she shared only four years with as he passed away in 1990. She continued to live in Huron until 1995 when she moved to Spearfish, SD, to be near her son and help in the assisted living home.
While in Spearfish, she joined the Church of the Nazarene, which she attended faithfully and became a member.
She leaves to mourn a daughter, Judy (Ed) Olson of Holdrege, NE, son, Roger (Margaret) Kleinsasser of Spearfish, two sisters, Ann Bartel of Pierre, SD, and Rose (Darrell) Dietrick of Denver, CO, one brother, Melroy (Liz) Hofer of Springfield, SD, two step-daughters, Carol and Karen; three grandsons; Scott Moore, Brian Moore and Todd (Janel) Moore, two granddaughters, Dawn (Trent) Fuecker and Shauna Moore, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, parents, three children in infancy, one brother Eli, one sister Ruth, and one grandson Dusty.
