Virginia Louise Fuhrmann, 86, of Spearfish, SD died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Spearfish Regional Hospital.
Virginia was born on March 7, 1928 to DeWitt and Wilma (Clark) Malvin in Belle Fourche, SD. Virginia grew up in Belle Fourche graduating from Belle Fourche High School in 1946. She attended one year at Monticello College in Alton, Illinois.
Virginia married Donald F. Fuhrmann (her high school sweetheart) on October 24, 1947. Their marriage was blessed with four daughters and one son. After raising her children, she worked at GE in Bridgeport, CT as a data processor. Following their retirement, they returned to the Black Hills in 1990. They enjoyed traveling extensively around the world and the USA. During her lifetime, she volunteered at numerous community organizations everywhere she lived. She was an active member of the All Angels Episcopal Church and the local P.E.O Sisterhood.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Donna Castell, Saddle Brook, NJ; Marilyn (Dwayne) Gregory, Sturgis, SD; Cheryl (Michael) Dunn, Bellevue, NE; Diane (Rusty) Sheppard, Southbury, CT; and son, Mike (Sue) Fuhrmann, Sundance, WY; one sister, Marilyn (Don) Denzin, Sundance, WY; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, June 25th at All Angels Episcopal Church in Spearfish. Inurnment will be at the Black Hills National Cemetery.
