Vicky Herren, 63 of Spearfish passed away on March 19, 2015 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Vicky was born on February 28, 1952 in Brookings, SD the third of six children to George and Violet (Anderson) Herren. She grew-up on the family ranch 15 miles from Dupree. During her childhood she attended school at Sunnybrooke, Whittier and Fairview Schools. In 1973, she moved to town and was employed at the café in Dupree and later went to work at the kitchen in the Dupree School. Vicky moved to Spearfish in 2002 where she was a client of the Northern Hills Training Center.

Vicky loved to be busy and always had time to greet her family and friends. She loved fishing, riding a motorized scooter, shopping and anything else that was going on around her.

Vicky is survived by her mother, Violet Herren; brothers, Bob (Kathie) and John (Bobbie Jo); sisters, Rhonda (Bart), Twyla (Dave) and Patty; numerous nieces and nephews; and her precious companion, Whiskers her cat.

She was preceded in death by her father, George "Bud" Herren, an infant sister and her grandparents.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 3:00 PM at the Dupree Cemetery in Dupree, SD. Memorials have been established to benefit Northern Hills Training Center and SD Special Olympics.
