Veryl W. Stubbart, 94, of Newcastle, WY, died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Weston County Manor in Newcastle.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Hulett Civic Center in Hulett, WY, burial will follow at Alva Cemetery, Alva, Wyoming.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to benefit Crook County Memorial Nursing Home and Weston County Manor in honor of Veryl.
Veryl was born July 3, 1914 to John P. and Audrey F. (Morford) Stubbart in Lamoni, IA. The Stubbart family homesteaded in the Oshoto, Wyoming area when Veryl was a young boy. He was the second of five children whose names were Enid, Veryl, Don, Carol and Kenneth. Veryl married Hazel L. Hartman on October 15, 1939. To this union were born; Gary Lee, Gene Louise, John H., James L., Mary E. (Yocum) and Martha A. (Butts) Stubbart. Hazel passed away in December of 1984 and Veryl married Lena Gray of Alva in July of 1986 joining the two families. The couple lived in his home in Alva for several years. Lena had four children with her first husband Lyle. They are Russell, Ancil, Marjorie and Bob Gray.
Veryl was preceded in death by his father, mother, first wife, Hazel, sister, Enid, son, Gary, daughter, Gene, second wife Lena, who died in May of 2008 at the Crook County Memorial Nursing Home and step-son, Russell.
Veryl leaves his four children; John (Rosa) Stubbart of Adrian, MO, James Stubbart of Butler, MO, Martha (Leslie) Butts of Newcastle and Mary (Don) Yocum of Independence, MO, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two brothers, Donald (Mary) Stubbart of IL, and Kenneth (Wanda) Stubbart of OH, one sister, Carol Kroeck of MO, numerous nieces and nephews and numerous step-children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
