Tuff Moeller, 69, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at his home near Sundance, WY, after a courageous fight with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, January 2nd 2009 at Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 3rd 2009 at the Sundance Methodist Church, with Deacon Kim Carroll officiating, burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Sundance.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Hospice Treasured Memories, Campbell County Memorial Hospital Cancer Center or Aladdin Volunteer Fire Department.
Donald "Tuff" Henry Moeller was born July 3, 1939 at Estelline, SD, to Henry and Ethel (Maas) Moeller. He moved to Rapid City in 1943 and went to a country school east of Black Hawk through the 8th grade. In 1956 he moved with is family to a ranch south of Sundance. He married Alice Ann "Beeb" Oudin in September of 1957. To this union four children were born: Monte, Stacey, Murray, and Shelby. He took his family back to Rapid City and drove a truck for Black Hills Milk Producers. In 1961 they moved back, to work for his father on the ranch south of Sundance. He returned briefly to Rapid City to work for Black Hills Milk Producers again before moving back to Sundance where he worked on a ranch at Beulah for Dick Courchaine. In 1966 he bought the Butterfield Ranch northeast of Sundance where he ran cattle and also worked for Champion Construction. In July of 1977 he married Peggy Shoun; to that union three children were born: Dustin, Shaun and Jess. In 1985 he went to work as a salesman for Sundance Equipment until opening his own business, Tuff's Equipment in 1987. He then started Tuff's Trucking in 1989. Tuff enjoyed hunting and camping, but his passion was trucking.
Tuff is survived by his wife Peggy Moeller of Sundance, his mother Ethel Moeller of Sundance, daughters, Stacey Moeller of Gillette, Shelby (Garnet) Goud of Carlyle, Saskatchewan, Canada, one daughter-in-law, Debbie Moeller of Sundance, three sons, Dustin Moeller of Sundance, Shaun (Sherri) Moeller of Gillette, and Jess Moeller of Sundance, his grandchildren: Chris, Candace, Caleb, Kelci, Jackson, Matthew, Eric, Andrea, Heather and Averie, twin great-granddaughters: Halle and Hayden Moeller, three sisters, Betty (Bill) Myers of Sundance, Jenny (Larry) Crawford of Newell, SD, and Linda (Bernard) Betz of Clearmont, WY, one brother, Darold "Chub" (Roberta) Moeller of Swan Valley, ID, one brother-in-law Jim Litzel of Edgemont, SD, numerous nephews, nieces, brothers and sisters-in-law and countless friends.
Tuff was preceded in death by his two sons, Monte and Murray, father Henry Moeller, sister Eleanor Litzel and one grandson Clay Moeller.
