Tommy M. Andersen, 83 of Spearfish passed away Thursday morning November 25, 2010 at Dorsett Regional Senior Care of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00P.M., Monday, November 29, 2010 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Burial will follow at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Alzheimer's Research or Dorsett Regional Senior Care Special Unit.

Tommy was born on April 14, 1927 to Martin and Elsie (Uren) Andersen . He grew up around Newell and went to the Navy at the age of 17 serving in World War II. He married Phyllis Michaels on September 13, 1947 and three children were born to this union.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Phyllis; daughter Jacque (Alan) DeMinch, of Gillette, WY; Granddaughter Shannon Atwood and Danny of Greely, CO; Great-Grandchildren Mat Traitin, Tarena DeMinch and Melanie Atwood; sister Jane Andersen of Lead and numberous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bobby Andersen, sisters Betty Hafner and Beatrice (Dearie) Achitzger; sons Michael and Tommy Andersen and a granddaughter, Kara Riddle.
