Tom Williams of Carlise, Wyoming died peacefully at home at the Erland Ranch, near Carlile after a long illness.
He was born in Lincoln Nebraska on August 18, 1943, the son of Don and Dorothy Williams and the grandson of Alma (Dearie) and Mike Erland, early settlers in the area.
He is survived by his two daughters, Amy Williams Sanders and Katie Williams Young, their husbands Jeff Sanders and Aaron Young, and six grandchildren, Charlie, Abby, Anna and John Sanders, and Mina and Violet Young. Tom graduated from Marmion High School and attended college at the University of Arizona and Dayton University. He lived in Algonquin, Illinois for many years with his wife and children. He also lived in Oxnard, California for a number of years.
As a teenager, Tom worked on the Erland ranch for Dearie and Mike and he returned often to spend time there with family and friends, eventually returning to live in his grandparents' house for the last fifteen years of his life. He loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, bow hunting, and fishing. He loved ranching and the land in the Pine Ridge area.
Tom had many friends from everywhere he lived, Illinois, California and Wyoming and he enjoyed hosting people at the ranch, spending time with them and showing visitors around the area. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family will be gathering at R Place Bar & Grill in Pine Haven this Monday, March 14, 2016 at 6pm. Please join us in celebrating his life, grab a bite to eat and have a drink on Tom.
