Theodore Joseph Volk, 17, of Nisland, SD passed away on May 18th, 2026 at Monument Health Rapid City surrounded by his loving family. Theodore made the courageous decision to give life to countless others through organ donation.

Born on April 25th, 2009 in Spearfish, SD, he was the son of Megan and Joseph Volk and sibling to his three brothers and four sisters. He attended Spearfish High School where he joined football, track and wrestling. He lettered in varsity wrestling and went to the state match this year. He was looking forward to serving in the Marines after graduation.

Theo worked helping his family on Odessa Farm. Outside of work, Theo had a passion for woodworking, hunting, and many outdoor activities.

Theo is survived by his parents Megan and Joseph Volk, his grandparents David and Marla Elsom of Spearfish, June and Thomas Volk of Mobridge, siblings Mae, Olivia, Henry, Gretchen, William, Beatrice, and Charles Volk as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 at 10:30 am. Additionally there will be a separate Celebration of his Life for classmates and friends at Connection Church at 1:30pm on the same day. A private burial will follow these services.
