Thelma K. Wiessner, 89 of Spearfish died Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Garden Hills Assisted Living in Spearfish.
Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to benefit the Northern Hills Training Center.
Thelma was born April 28, 1922 in Arpan, SD to Lauritz and Nellie "Kristiana" (Olson) Tveidt. She moved with her family at the age of seven to the Tilford area. In her early twenties she left home and went to work for the J.C. Penny Company in Lead and Deadwood. She married Carl Wiessner in Belle Fourche, SD on November 10, 1958. She continued to live in Belle Fourche until moving to Spearfish in 1992. Thelma enjoyed volunteering for R.S.V.P. and the time she spent with her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Carol (Mike) Tucker of Tunkhannock, PA and Karen Wiessner of Spearfish, grandchildren; Cameron (Lisa) Fowlkes of Kennewick, WA and Tiffany and Erika Tucker of Rawlins, WY and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers; Lars, Sigvald ,Ole, Lewis and Carl Tveidt and six sisters; Josephine Helmer, Malina Tveidt, Theresa Cobb, Clara Parsons, Ida Gillespie and Hilda Wiessner.
