Obituary

Teresa Dingeman Lindstad, 84 of Spearfish, SD passed away peacefully with her loving husband, Wayne Lindstad, at her side on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the David M. Dorsett Healthcare in Spearfish. Her Catholic faith was very important to her and we know she is resting peacefully in the arms of our Lord.

Teresa was born at home in St. Onge, SD to Harry and Edith Dingeman, the third child of a family of six talented children. While attending Black Hills Teachers College (BHTC) she was a BHTC beauty candidate and reigned as the Rose of Sigma Tau in 1951. Teresa was also an active participant in the Black Hills Passion Play.

During her 35 plus year marriage to Marcus Comes they lived in SD and OR where she had a lengthy career as a school teacher. Teresa gave birth to three bright and beautiful children; owned and operated the Penguin Drive Inn in Belle Fourche with her husband; obtained a Bachelor and Master of Science Degree in Education; and made and sold ski hats, headbands and other arts and crafts. She took on all her activities with an entrepreneurial spirit and unending energy and creativity.

In October 1999, Teresa married Wayne Lindstad and enjoyed being a stepmother to his four children and their large loving families. Her life was full of adventure with Wayne. They spent winters in Port Aransas, TX, spring in Eugene, OR and the rest of the year in Spearfish. She continued her many hobbies which included quilt making, crocheting, knitting and other arts and crafts. She loved making cookies and angel food cake for Wayne's band members and spending special time with her grandchildren. There was never a dull moment in her life.

Teresa is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Wayne Lindstad of Spearfish; two of her three children, Bradley (Carolyn) Comes of Locust Grove, VA and Marybeth (Frank) Jaeger of Fossil, OR; five grandchildren: Cole, Joe and Katherine Jaeger, Christopher and Patrick Comes; her sister, Martha (Wayne) Dacar; her brother, David (Gail) Dingeman; great-grandchild, Penelope Comes; four stepchildren: Dean (Nancy) Lindstad, Sherry (Randy) Droic, Wendy (Terry) Carr and Suzanne Cramer; 11 step-grandchildren and 21 step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Paul and Roger Dingeman; sister, Mary Jane Wagman and her oldest son, Gregory Comes.
