Steven Stinson, 59, Spearfish, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2018 after battling a brief illness, surrounded by his family.
Steve was born in Belle Fourche, SD on July 30, 1958, to Jack and Jean (Kanode) Stinson.
Later Jack and Jean divorced but Steve and his brother Cleve were blessed with two great sets of parents, Jack and Nancy (Hageman) and Jean and Mike Madden.
Steve grew up in Denver with his brother Cleve and sister Michelle (Hoar). As an adult, Steve worked for Power Motives as a heavy equipment mechanic; working for the same company for 32 years.
On July 26, 2006, Steve received the gift of sobriety. Steve was a proud member of AA, and has helped many people; sharing his experience, strength, and hope.
Steve moved back to Belle Fourche in 2010 to be closer to his parents. In 2012, he met the love of his life, Martha, and in 2013 they were united in marriage. They had the greatest five years together; full of love and laughter. Steve had a love for motorcycles and could be seen riding all over the area.
So blessed to have shared his life are his wife Martha (Carr) Stinson; sister, Michelle Hoar and her children, Ashley and Cody; step-children, Chris (Michelle) Ludens, Cassie (Tom) Anderson; six grandchildren; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-parents; grandparents and brother Cleve.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on May 12, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Spearfish. A memorial has been established in lieu of flowers.
