Stephen H. "Steve" Francis 66, of Sundance, Wyoming passed away of cancer on October 27th, at home with his wife and caregiver by his side.
Steve was born on May 30, 1950 the son of Henry Francis, Memphis TN, and the late Rose M. Gaudette Francis. He was born in Everett MA. and graduated from St Mary's High, Lynn MA, and the University of Memphis. He served five years with the Marines. Steve worked as a hospital controller in Coldwater MI, and Sundance WY. After retirement Steve went to work for the USPS at the Beulah post office, his favorite job of his life. When Steve was younger he also enjoyed working with his dad at bridge tournaments.
Steve loved to entertain folks in rest homes, wearing costumes commemorating holidays. On any given cold, blustery day you could always find Steve out Ice fishing, (worrying his family) his favorite hobby. Ones that knew Steve, knew he had a humorous side, He kept that till the end.
Steve is survived by his wife Fran; his father, Henry Francis of Memphis; two children, Sean (Neva) of Fargo ND and Jackie (Travis) Boelke of Kenmare ND; two sisters, Janet (Brian) Hannon of Rowley MA and Theresa (Bob) Rahikka of Columbia MD; three brothers, William of Bangkok, Thailand, Robert (Paula) of Cranston RI and Michael of Rowley MA and eight grandchildren, Mike, Chris, Mariah, Remi and Cole Francis, Ethan, Liam, and Aubrey Boelke.
In keeping with Steve's wishes there will be no services. However, there will be a celebration of his life at the Chapel of Faith church (116 South 3rd St, Sundance, WY) Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 2-4pm. Bring your favorite memories of Steve and share them.
