Long time Crook County resident, Shirley Ziemer, passed away on January 21, 2014 at the age of 72 in Sundance. She was loved greatly and will be missed dearly by all those that knew her. Most would remember her having a smile on her face and her ear was always open and up for a grand visit. She was most at home in the outdoors and cherished her time camping and fishing. Many people would remember her over the years being employed at Crook County Memorial hospital, the Crook County Senior Center and numerous other local establishments.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lura "Ellen" (Cohee) Bear and Sherman Wesley Bear of SD, her daughter, Cindy Jo of SD , her brother, Lee Bear of Fruitdale, SD and Karen Brookie of Lander, WY. She is survived by her sister, Wilma Nichols of Sundance, WY; sister-in- law, Muriel Bear of Fruitdale, SD; her five sons, Wesley (wife Tina) of Colorado, Gary (wife Tanya) of NV, Bill Svoboda (wife Michele) of GA, Charles (partner Ben) of WY and Terry Ziemer (wife Teah) of NV; and two step-children, Tom of NV and Beverly of WA. She was also a proud grandmother of 9: Patrick, Jonathan, Robin, Gary Jr, Journee, Alexandra, Gavin, Desiree and Freddie, and a great-grandmother of four.

There will be a private service for the family on Saturday the 25th of January. There will be a public remembrance for her at 4pm on Saturday, January 25th, 2014 at the Sundance Senior Center.
