Shirley Maeder, 83, of Moorcroft, WY, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at her home.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Moorcroft, WY at 1:00 pm and services will follow at 2:00 pm. with President Booth presiding. A memorial has been established to benefit Crook County Library.
Shirley was born May 1, 1926, in Chicago, IL to Albert and Grace Larson. She attended and graduated from Oak Park High School in Oak Park, IL. After attending college she became a Chemist Lab Technician for Chicago Malt & Grain. She married Edward Maeder on January 31, 1945 at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Oak Park. Shirley loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed spending time gardening, sewing and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Edward of Moorcroft, four children, Sandra (Bill) Alm, Susan (Ronald) Hanson, Lawrence (Lillian) Maeder and Lynn (James) Reid. Grandchildren Richard Alm, Audrey Schoene, Keith Hanson, Mathew Hanson, Traci Kopernik, Jason Maeder, Eric Reid, Amy Jones, Earl Reid, and Alecia Banker; and eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister Betty Allan, Mason, WI.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance, Wyoming.
