Sheryl Pattinson Brooks, 59 of Laramie, WY, passed away suddenly May 9, 2014 at Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, WY.

Sheryl was born June 29, 1954 in Deadwood, SD to Alice (Larive) and W. Dale Pattinson. Sheryl attended school in Gillette, Casper, Midwest and Sheridan, WY as well as Belle Fourche, S.D. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1972 and attended the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT.

One of her favorite pastimes was flying the Piper Cub aircraft. She got her first pilot's license at age 17 in Sheridan, WY and her sea plane license in 1977 in California. She also enjoyed skiing, especially at Terry Peak, Lead, SD.

She is survived by her children, Gwen Howell, Seattle, WA, Lucas Howell (Jessie), Denver, CO, and Piper Howell, Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren, Vivian, Charlie, and Penny, Denver, CO; mother, Alice Pattinson, Spearfish, SD; brother, Mick Pattinson (Stacy Pattinson), Colorado Springs, CO; niece, Sara (Tom Jentz), Bellingham, WA; nephews, Joel Pattinson (Meredith Moseley), Sunnyvale, CA and Bill Ebeling (Crystal Miller), Sheridan, WY; aunts, Juanita (Gene) Erdman, Spearfish, SD, Shirley Frasier, Spearfish, SD, Julia (Don) Roadifer, Spokane, WA, Patricia (Bob) Duncan, Douglas, WY, Rose Konola, Grand Junction, CO, Mary Lou Larive, Belle Fourche, SD, Shirley Larive, Scottsbluff, NE; and uncle Clifford (Lynn) Larive, Rapid City, SD; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father W. Dale Pattinson, her maternal grandparents, Arthur and Tillie Larive, and paternal grandparents, Jesse and Effie Janes.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday May 16, 2014 at the Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel, Spearfish. Burial will follow the service at the Green Mountain Cemetery, Sundance, WY.
