Sherri Annette Oban, 52 Lead passed away on November 1, 2018 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Sherri was born on June 7, 1966 in Pierre, SD to Kenneth and Geraldine (Fenger) Oban. Her childhood years were spent "on the road" as her dad was employed by Johnson Brothers Construction. This journey in life taking them to many destinations in Wyoming and South Dakota.

Sherri graduated from Spearfish High School in 1984. She was united in marriage to Keith Duane Carpenter on July 7, 1984. They resided on Redwater Hill and to this union sons Branden and Dusten were born.

Her love for all animals especially her horses led her to participate in many horse activities, including the Belle Fourche 4 ^th of July parade.

Cooking for her family and friends also led into catering for auctions where family and friends became her "hired hands". She was employed by Johnson Brothers, the Belle Inn and Premier Financial. Sherri enjoyed life, spending time listening to the radio, four wheeling, on and off trails, horseback riding and camping trips. She loved Halloween and watching the Deadwood crowd, so if you are ever in Deadwood keep your eyes open.

After Keith's passing she continued to live in the area her last year spent in Lead with friends and companion, Matt Miller and their two dogs, Ballou and Katie.

Sherri is survived by Matt Miller; his daughter, Mikenzy of Lead; son, Branden (Kennedy) and children, Summer and Winter of Gillette, WY; son, Dusten (Kelli) of Belle Fourche; brother Randy Oban of Sundance, WY; lifelong best friend, Tammy Wilson-Halvorsen and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Keith; parents, Kenneth and Geraldine Oban; and brothers, Gary and Robert.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. James Episcopal Church in Belle Fourche.
