It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Shawn Haug, who passed away on December 28th, 2023, at the age of 62.

Born on September 20th, 1961, in Dodge City, KS, she grew up in Winner, SD and later moved to Spearfish, SD. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband Kerry Haug, and devoted mother to her children Kristine, Erin, and Kara.

Shawn lived a fulfilling life and was a woman with a big heart. She had a passion for family time, and her lasagna was the highlight of family dinners. She also had a green thumb and loved tending to her garden, which she and Kerry loved to share with friends and family. In her free time, she enjoyed puzzles and chasing her grandkids.

Shawn was a kind and generous soul, always looking to see where she could help. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for the infectious smile and big hugs.

She is survived by her mother, Marie Post; daughters Kristine (Anson) Juelfs, Erin Chord, and Kara (Isaiah) Sandford; Grandchildren Zak, Evan, and Anya Juelfs; and many extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Spearfish, SD on January 12th at 10:30am, with interment to the follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Lunch will follow at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Northern Hills Source of Support and/or the Alzheimer's Association.
