Obituary

Shawn Eberhard, 45, of Belle Fourche, SD passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019, in Spearfish, SD.

"Our Dad"

Shawn Travis Eberhard was born at Rapid City Regional Hospital on September 30 th , 1973 to Larry Eberhard and Janice "Hunt" Eberhard. What a happy day when he joined his sister, Nikki Eberhard Teppo, who he loved so much.

Shawn attended school at Cheyenne Eagle Butte and graduated in May of 1992. He had already enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was leaving home to begin a new life and create his own path and adventures (I'm sure he had many). After boot camp he was sent to Aberdeen, Maryland, where he went to school to become a machinist. He was then stationed at Twentynine Palms, CA and later stationed at Okinawa for a year. He was married and to this union his daughter, Alexa Jade, was born. She was the apple of his eye, his little girl.

Shawn then returned stateside and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, CA. He made Sergeant in under three years. He met Robin Fornell and to this union he had a son. Jacob Travis was his pride and joy. He loved his children and was a good father to them. He strived in giving them what they wanted and followed their sports wherever it took them.

Shawn served 8 years in the Marine Corps and was proud to be called a "Devil Dog"; once a marine, always a marine. After eight years, he chose not to re-enlist and returned home. He moved to Belle Fourche and was employed by his brother-in-law, Blayne Teppo, whom he loved and respected at Concrete and Construction. He later moved back to Eagle Butte and was employed by the city of Eagle Butte where he worked for 6 years and dearly loved his boss, Jon Ganje. He wanted to be closer to his kids, so he then moved back to Belle Fourche where he worked for RING Container Technologies, where they manufactured plastic bottles and other items for six years. He then started his job at Spearfish Regional Health Hospital with maintenance.

Shawn easily made many friends and had a great sense of humor, always playing jokes on his co-workers and kids.

Shawn's health became an issue where he had congestive heart failure and other heart complications. While struggling with his health issues, he never lost his sense of humor or that great smile. His kids were his life as well as his family. His grandma called him Shawnie Baby. He had a big heart and loved his sister Nikki and her family.

Rest in Peace Dad. You will be forever missed and in our hearts. The many memories we shared will be cherished and never forgotten. When you left us, you took a big piece of Jake and I with you.

Love you Dad, and we will meet again.
