Shary Porter, 60 of Deadwood, SD passed away suddenly on August 27, 2020.

She was born on April 27, 1960 to Mike and Elaine (Crofutt) Porter in Deadwood. The family moved to Deadwood in 1962, where she grew up attending school and graduating in 1978 from Lead High School. Upon graduating she started working at F.L. Thorpe where she loved creating BH Gold Jewelry. After F.L. Thorpe's closing she started working in the gaming industry.

In September 1979, she welcomed her son, James. Fifteen years later in 1994 she welcomed her daughter, Melayna. Shary was over the moon in 2008 when her first grandson, Michael was born. In 2010, her second grandson, Kaedan was born and she could hardly handle the excitement. Her kids and family were her life. Watching them do what they loved brought a smile to her face.

Shary is survived by her father, Mike of Deadwood; son, James (Natasha) of Spearfish; daughter, Melayna of Spearfish; her companion of 30 years, Dave Waisanen of Deadwood; two grandson, Michael and Kaedan; brother, Jerry of Cheyenne, WY and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elaine; sister, Connie and brother-in-law, Ed Grenstiner.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, August 31 at the VFW in Deadwood.
