Sharon Marie Kruger, 83, passed away February 13, 2026, at Avantara Mountain View in Rapid City, SD.
Sharon was born in Dickinson, ND on August 19, 1942, to George and Rose (Stradinger) Heiser. She graduated from Dickinson High School in 1961. Sharon joined the U.S. Army in April of 1962. Sharon and one of her friends were the first women to join the Army out of Dickinson, ND. When they were sworn in, it was broadcasted on National TV. In September of 1962, Sharon got hurt in a vehicle accident that kept her in a coma for the next three months. Sharon was honorably discharged in January 1963.
Sharon was a woman that enjoyed life, she really enjoyed hot rods, drag racing, bowling, camping, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and a cold red beer in the backyard with family and friends. She especially loved music, specifically Elvis! Sharon was also involved and loved the church, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rapid City, SD.
Sharon is survived by her son, Ricky, brother Bob, sisters Terri and Patti, grandchildren Jeremia, Nicole, Sara, and Nina, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and by the many kids that crossed her path that called her mom or grandma.
Sharon was proceeded in death by her husband Stanley, her grandparents Carl and Rose, Pete and Julia, parents George and Rose, and her brother Richie.
Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rapid City, SD. Burial will follow the service at 1:30PM at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.
