Sarah Fillmore Buittner, (Aunt Sarah to many), 85 of Spearfish,  passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024.

Sarah was born on December 31, 1938, the fifth child of WilliamO. And Lillian G. (Waterfall) Fillmore in Spearfish, SD.  This is where she attended grade school, high school and college receiving an accounting degree at Black Hills State College.

In 1963, she met LeRoy Buittner and they were married on August 30, 1964. They moved to Denver where she worked for Walter Martin & Company as an accountant.  They bought their first home in Broomfield, CO where they raised their son Daniel and daughter, Pamela.

Sarah was a founding member and president of Quester Antique Club and Doll Club.  She was active in the school system as a volunteer in the nurse's office, head room mother and member of the PTA for six years.  She was on the Catholic Church Parish Council and the Judicial Nominating Committee for Boulder County for four years and the Republican Club.

In 1980, the family moved back to Spearfish and in 1985 she opened Key Antiques which she ran until she passed.  She helped to start the Northern Hills Antique Club and the Doll Club.  Her hobby away from the antique store was gold panning which lead to her position on the SD Mining Association Board.  She generously volunteered her time, money and items for the Senior Center and their annual garage sales.

She is survived by her daughter Pamela Kraft and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; son Daniel; her parents and four siblings.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on June 9, 2024  at  the Joy Center located at 1351 St. Joe Street in Spearfish.
