Obituary
Ruth Cain, 93 of Spearfish, died on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Ruth Cain was born on February 12, 1922 in Garfield County, Montana to Conrad and Katherine Hummel. She grew up in Miles City, MT and married Edward Cain on July 20, 1942.
She moved with her husband to Spearfish in March of 1946 when he accepted the management position of the JC Penney store. She was employed by Montana-Dakota Utilites Company for many years. Upon her retirement she and he husband enjoyed many years of traveling and continued her volunteer efforts in the community.
She is survived by one nephew, Dr. Edward Hoffman of Castro Valley, CA.
By her wishes her body has been donated to Sanford School of Medicine at Vermillion. Her cremains will be returned for inurnment at Rose Hill Cemetery at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to Friends of Grace Balloch Memorial Library, Hospice of the Northern Hills or a charity of one's choosing.
Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapels and Crematory Service of Spearfish.
