Roy Lee Heinen, 75 Lead, SD passed away on October 31, 2025.

Roy was born January 1, 1950 at Deadwood, SD to Damian and Ida (Lynch) Heinen. Roy graduated from Lead High School. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Lead. He was an avid photographer, preserving the history of every new and demolished building in the area. Roy was a huge sports fan, both on the local and national scene. He attended local high school sporting events using his camera to document all the action and fun. Roy was well known in the Lead and Deadwood community.

Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 10:30am at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lead with burial to follow at Black Hills National Cemetery. 

Arrangements are under the care of the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel.
