Roy A. Aspen Sr., 88 of Lead died Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Dorsett Regional Senior Care in Spearfish.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.

Roy was one of eight children born to Andrew & Ida (Jensen) Aspen on February 2, 1922, at Terraville, SD. He attended grade school throught the 8th grade at Terraville and graduated from Lead High School in 1941. Following graduation he entered the Navy, when he returned he went to work for Homestake Mining Company in Lead. He married Jean Miller on September 13, 1947. To this union two sons, Roy and Rodney were born.

Survivors include his sister, Alice Cann of Rapid City, two sons, Roy Aspen Jr. of Lead and Rodney (Sheila) Aspen of Deadwood and three grandchildren, Marty Aspen of AK, Kayla Aspen of MT and Cassie Aspen of MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; parents; and four sisters and two brothers.

Roy will be loved and missed dearly by his family and friends.
