Rosemary Nowell, 75 of Deadwood, went home to the Lord on June 12, 2014.
Rosemary Ann Nowell was born on August 21, 1938 to Bernard and Tillie (Stemper) Zens in Redfield, SD. She grew up and attended school in Redfield. At 20 years of age, she moved to the Lead/Deadwood area in the Black Hills where she lived the rest of her life.
She married Glen Nowell in 1955. She and Glen had six children. Michael, Dona, Deanne, Thomas, Richard and Kenneth. Her nephew, David Nowell also was one of the children that Rosemary watched over for many years. They divorced in 1980.
Rosemary spent her life raising her children and helping others. She was a cook for over 20 years at the '76 Restaurant and the Franklin Hotel in Deadwood.
Rosemary is survived by her sisters, Darlene Luttrell and Dorothy (Dale) Connor; her children, Deanne (Bob) Tridle, Thomas (Ruth) Nowell, Richard (Myla) Nowell, Kenneth Nowell; daughter-in-law, Pamela Nowell; five grandchildren, Kari Tridle, Tony Stuen, Amanda Payne, Misty Ebright, Cody Ebright and five great-grandchildren. Rosemary was very blessed with her close friends, Vivian Hollister, Patty Cassidy, Lucille Harvey and Donna Brien. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Shirley, brothers, Darwin and Thomas, son, Michael and daughter, Dona.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday June 16, 2014 at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead, SD.
