Rose (Rosie) Marie Harrison, 68, Hulett, WY

In the early morning hours of July 3, 2014 Rosie passed away in her sleep of natural causes. Rosie was born on October 24, 1945 in Hot Springs SD to Roy and Rose (DuBray) Virtue. She was raised in Custer, SD and attended grade school and high school there. On February 9, 1963 Rosie married Dewie Harrison. Rosie and Dewie raised their family in Custer, SD. She worked for over 30 years at the South Dakota Developmental Center in Custer. Rosie dearly loved many of the people she cared for there. Later in life Rosie also worked at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Custer.

For many years Rosie and Dewie had their own special seats at the Frontier Bar in Custer. Rosie loved her family and loved to have a good time. Rosie liked to socialize and really enjoyed dancing.

In 2006, Rosie moved to Hulett, WY where she quickly made many good friends.

Rosie is survived by one sister, Judi Welch of Osage, WY; two sons, Tim (Carmen) Harrison, Tony (Sherry) Harrison; two daughters, Rose Ann (Robert) Olson and Tiffany (Todd) Grewell; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Rosie was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Rose Virtue, her husband Dewie Harrison, brothers, John Red Bear, Ed Virtue, and Bill Virtue, sisters, Irene Langley, and Mona Conger.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Thursday July 10, 2014 at the Civic Center in Hulett, WY with visitation one hour prior to the service, followed by a luncheon for family and friends. Burial will be held later that afternoon at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
