Ronald Eugene Vore, age 76, of Sundance, Wyoming passed away at Peaceful Pines in Spearfish, South Dakota on August 15, 2026.

Ron was born July 28, 1950, to Bob and ClaraLee Vore in Deadwood, South Dakota. His folks raised him and his four siblings on the 6T9 Ranch on Redwater near Beulah. He graduated from Sundance High School in 1968 and was drafted into the Army with the assignment of military police.

Ron attended college in both Sheridan and Powell then graduated from the University of Wyoming in Laramie with a bachelor's degree in education, a Master of Science in agronomy and a doctorate in philosophy.

On February 9, 1974, he married Terry Sherrill Denzin, of Sundance. To this union, two daughters were born, Kari and Radona. Ron and Terry enjoyed nearly 53 years of marriage, raising their family on the ranch at Beulah.

In addition to ranching, Ron also authored the column Fixin’ Fence for the Wyoming Livestock Roundup. In the late 1990s, Ron was instrumental in developing the Small Water Program originally housed in the State Engineer’s Office and later moved to the Water Development Office where he retired in 2018. This program allowed Ron to facilitate diverse groups and be the bridge that allowed landowners and land users to develop their natural resources.

Ron served on a variety of boards including the Crook County Weed and Pest Board, Crook County Fair Board, the Crook County Natural Resource District, the Wyoming Association of Conservation Districts Board, the Wyoming Water Association, the Wyoming State Board of Agriculture and most recently the Wyoming Water Development Commission.

Ron is survived by the love of his life Terry, his brother, Rob (Lucinda), sister Josie all of Crook County. He is also survived by daughter Kari, (John) of Kaycee, WY and daughter Radona (Jason) of Saratoga, WY, bonus daughter Tia (Adam) of Lewiston, MT and bonus son Frederic (Lily) of Winston Salem, NC. Ron leaves a legacy to his many grandchildren. Shianne of Grafenwoehr, Germany, Laurel of Laramie, WY, Marilee of Laramie, WY, Nathaniel aka Newt, recent Marine Corp graduate, Elijah and Caleb of Saratoga, WY, Trevore and Teven of Kaycee, WY and Sophia, Emily and Lena of Salem, NC. He is also survived by great granddaughters Oakley and Delilah of Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and ClaraLee, brothers, Harry and Jeff, and nephews, Bob and Punk.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00PM September 5, 2026, at the Crook County School District Central Office located in Sundance, Wyoming. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation will be given to Jae Foundation Wyoming.
