Ronald "Ron" Huckins, 69 of Upton, Wyoming died Friday, November 20, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer at Crook County Memorial Hospital in Sundance, WY.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 30, 2009 at the Newcastle United Methodist Church with Reverend Dave Moorman officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to benefit Crook County Hospice. Condolences may be sent to: 1412 Hwy 16 South, Upton, Wyoming 82730.

Ron was born September 9, 1940 in Crook County, Wyoming to Robert and Maxine (Bear) Huckins. Ron attended his primary years of school in Hulett and later graduated from Upton High School in 1958. On September 13, 1959 Ron married Ruby Shell, the couple had two children, Rhonda and Robert. Ron retired in 2003 from Black Hills Power and Light after thirty-eight years of service. He enjoyed collecting coins and firearms.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert A. Huckins and son Robert J. Huckins.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Ruby Huckins of Upton, daughter, Rhonda (Tim) Gordon of Newcastle, granddaughter, Jennifer Liggett , three grandsons; Brian (Sheila) Smith and Ray and Tyler Huckins, three great-granddaughters, two great-grandsons, his mother, Maxine Huckins of Sturgis and brother, Alvin Huckins of Upton.
