Ronald Frank Esquivel, 54, a resident of Upton, WY passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012 in South Dakota at Terry Peak Ski Area on his favorite ski run. Cause of death is yet to be determined, but there was no physical trauma and is believed to be caused from a health incident.

Ron was born in Belle Fourche, S.D. on June 14, 1957 to Frank and Sally (Jones) Esquivel. A few years after his birth, his family and he moved to Upton, where he attended school until his family moved to Lovell, WY where he graduated high school in 1975. Soon after graduation he moved back to Upton and worked for Materi Exploration, Exeter Drilling, and AmWest Petroleum where he later became president of the company. Ron was mayor of Upton from 2004 to 2005 and currently serving as a Weston County Development Board member.

Ron married Kim Davis of Upton on June 21, 1986 and they had two children, Dylan, 24, and Dani, 19. He enjoyed skiing, watching baseball and the Wyoming Cowboys, camping, and entertaining family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Louie and Lenore Esquivel and Milton and Myrtle Jones.

Ron is survived by his wife, Kim, two children, Dylan (and Monica) of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Dani of Laramie, WY, also by his parents, Frank and Sally Esquivel of Upton, three brothers, Mick (and Susan) Esquivel of Byron, WY, Doug Esquivel of Oregon City, OR, Mark Esquivel of Gerlach, NV, and nieces and nephews.
