Ron was born on September 24, 1939 in York, Nebraska, the only child of Peter C. & Della Mae (Chambers) Dick. He graduated from school in Kimball, NE and went on to join the U.S. Navy and was first stationed in Illinois and Oklahoma. While on leave he came home and had a blind date with a beautiful young lady named Karen Goebel. From that time on he was smitten and they would later be married in California on May 21, 1957. From this union three wonderful children were born, Martin Joseph, Carl Ray and Rosalie Kaye.

He decided to re-enlist with the Navy in 1962 and continued until his retirement with the Navy in June of 1982. He had achieved the rank of ADRC. During this time, he was also a co-pilot. Ron was very
proud of his service to his country. During Ron's time of military service, the family was stationed in many places, such as New York, California, Tennessee and Washington state.

Once he retired from the Navy, he moved to Sundance, Wyoming. He began a law enforcement career with the City of Sundance in August of 1982 and retired on December 31, 1999. After retirement, Ron and Karen remained in Sundance to be close to their children and other family members.
