Obituary
A celebration for the life of Roger G. Brunson, age 68, Sundance, Wyoming, will be held 10:30 Friday June 22, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Sundance. Burial will be at Green Mountain Cemetery, Sundance.
Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M., Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance.
A memorial has been established.
Roger was born July 22, 1938 in Sundance, the son of Floyd N. and Florence M (Crago) Brunson. The majority of his life he lived in Crook County. He graduated from Sundance High School in 1956 and entered the Army shortly thereafter. Returning from the service he lived in Lead and Rapid City, SD for a short time then returned to Sundance in 1960 where he called home.
He married Querida (Rida) Copas on December 6, 1959 and together they became the proud parents of a son, Ric and a daughter, Rhonda. He enjoyed his country way of life with his horses as well as hunting, bowling, golf and fishing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He was proud to serve the people of this area working for the Wyoming DOT for 31 years. He also worked for Homestake Mining Company, Tracy Motor Company, Robert's Construction Company and was a great ranch hand for many local ranchers.
Roger is survived by his wife, Rida; son Ric (Laurey) and granddaughter Brianna of Seattle, WA; daughter Rhonda (Jeff) and twin grandsons Greg and John, granddaughter Lexi of Hastings, NE; two brothers, Don (Dipper) of Aladdin, WY and Lyle (Vivian) of Sundance WY; one sister, Shirley Cummings of Devils Tower WY, and very special friends Larry Petersen and Henry (Yunk) Gretsfield, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles.
Roger was an inspiration to many people in the last years of his life, fighting cancer with a sense of humor and a smile. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Elta (Toots) Rogers.
