Bobbie was born on December 29, 1920 at Hurdsfield, ND in the home of her grandparents, the Reverend George and Minnie Walton, and with whom she lived until their passing in 1938. She came to Spearfish and made her home with Reverend and Mrs. J.W. Walton. While growing up, Bobbie attended five different schools, graduating from New Underwood High School in 1938. Upon coming to Spearfish, Bobbie took a short course in business at Spearfish Normal School. When the Black Hills Passion Play opened she was employed in their downtown office. Following that she was employed by J.C. Penney and as a bookkeeper for Black Hills Power and Light.

Bobbie married LeRoy "Bud" Bell in 1940 and to them was born one son, Larry Bell. The couple lived in Spearfish most of their lives though in 1979 they moved to Durango, CO where they lived happily until Bud's passing in 1987 and Bobbie returned to Spearfish to make her home.
Outside of her home and family, Bobbie's great love in her life was music of all kinds. She was active in the Methodist Church serving as church pianist for four years and sang with the church choir for 33 years. Later in her life she had the privilege of singing with the Blue Jean Group. This was a special time in her life. She was active in earlier years in the Women's Society and in later years enjoyed greeting and meeting new people in the church and doing church calling. She was active in Cub Scouts, PTA and interested and enjoyed all school activities.
In April of 2007, Bobbie had the misfortune of breaking her hip and in July moved to the David M. Dorsett Healthcare Center where she enjoyed her life until her passing.
