Obituary

Robert Ansel (Wagner) Weber, 87, Whitewood, SD, died Friday, November 9, 2012 at David M. Dorsett Healthcare Center, Spearfish, SD.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel, Spearfish. A vigil memory service will be on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the church. Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, Spearfish, SD. Memorials have been established to The Spearfish Food Pantry, The Good Shepherd's Clinic or St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Robert was born in Miranda City, Texas, May 11, 1925. Both of his parents died young and he lived with his sister in Bristo, OK for a short time, then with his aunt and uncle. He was adopted at age 9 by Andrew and Alma Weber. He lived on a farm as a child in St. James, MO. He came to South Dakota to work for a geology survey company. He met and married Josephine Heidrich from Newell, SD in November, 1951. They moved to and lived in St. Louis, MO, where Bob worked for the St. Louis Terminal Railroad Company. They retired to Spearfish in 1988. Josephine died in 1991. Bob met Bernice Holman, a good friend of Josephine's. Bob and Bernice were married on May 9, 1992. They lived in Vale, SD on the family farm until 1995, when they bought a home in Whitewood.

Robert was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Spearfish, Knights of Columbus (4th Degree) and the Whitewood Senior Citizens Center. Bob participated in the Passion Play three nights a week. He spent his time volunteering for Meals on Wheels at the Hickory House, working the food pantry and assisting the Knights of Columbus with fund raisers. Bob enjoyed card playing, jigsaw puzzles, wine making, church activities and bowling. Bernice and he enjoyed traveling to see family and friends.

Robert is survived by his wife, Bernice; four step-children, Wayne (Debbie) Silvernagel, Clinton, UT; Steve (Tammy) Silvernagel, Spearfish; Mary (Del) Beck, New Underwood, SD; Sharon (Mike) Sulzbach, Sturgis; eight step-grandchildren, ten step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews all over the country. He is preceded in death by his parents (biological and adoptive); first wife, Josephine; one sister and four brothers.
