Life has changed; it has not been taken away for Robert Judd Timm, 86 who died to this world June 28, 2012 at his home in Spearfish.
He was born August 10, 1925 to Frederick Thomas and Eva Pearl (Landon) Timm. During WWII Bob served in the Naval Air Corps. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1949, and spent his career as a Civil Engineer. He was a National Director of the Society of Professional Engineers, a member of American Society of Civil Engineers and Director of Wyoming Association of Civil Engineers. He was President of the Gillette Chamber of Commerce, and was named a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.
He was active in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod being baptized and later confirmed in 1946 in Ames Iowa. He served as President of congregations in Bismarck, ND, Bethlehem Rapid City, and Gillette, WY. In retirement he worked in his church's organization, Laborers for Christ, a building program across the nation.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Margaret (Peggy) of Spearfish; children Suzanne O'Daniel, Byron GA; Paula and Jon Triebenbach, Rochester, MN; Libby Policky, Houston, TX; Carrie and Chuck Brumbaugh, Lyman, WY; Patricia Lewis, Grosse Pointe, MI; Frederick Thomas Timm II and Debra, Renton, WA; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday July 20, 2012 at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Spearfish. Committal will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Laborers for Christ, Lutheran Church Extension Fund, P.O.Box 229009 St Louis, Missouri 63122 or one's choosing.
