Obituary
Richard Lohr, 56 of Las Vegas, NV passed away on May 6, 2017 after having heart bypass surgery and complication that followed.
Richard was born in Estelline, SD to Arthur C. and Audrey M (Kaiser) Lohr on January 9, 1961. He grew up in Estelline and North Dakota and all over the United States and part of South America ending up in Spearfish in 1969. Rich was a great pumpkin pounder, track star, and motorhead and all around great brother.
Rich was the most kind hearted person you'd ever meet, if you were a stranger you'd never know it, he'd make you feel as if you'd known him forever.
He loved cooking his tri tips and garlic shrimp on the grill, motorcycles, big trucks, the Beach Boys, Roger Whitaker, and Enya, along with all the great oldies of the 60's and 70's and a little beyond those.
He enjoyed working/rebuilding cars when he had his body shop, walking the swap meets, hanging with friends and raising the star of his life, his son, Art. He instilled upon his family the importance of the holidays, he simply loved and honored Christmas and enjoyed Halloween.
He is survived by his lovely wife, Maria; son, Arthur Charles Lohr II both of North Las Vegas City, NV and son, Victor Hernandez of Rapid City; sisters, Lelia (Paul) Lewis, Stephanie (Joe) Sprigler and Rhonda Lohr (Gary) Bindert all of Spearfish; brother, Edward (Suzanne) Lohr of Alaska; nieces, Tambi Jo of Spearfish, Erica Finnegan of Alaska, Natasha Sprigler Twin Falls, Idaho; nephews, Marc (Becca) Lewis of Sioux Falls, Joshua Lewis of Spearfish, Brandon (Ashley) Sprigler of Casper, Wyoming, Michael Sprigler of Spearfish, Matthew Lohr of Seattle and Zachary and Nick Bindert of Spearfish.
Vigil services will be at 7:30 PM on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spearfish with a visitation one hour prior. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 19 at the church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
