Richard Frybarger, 78 years old of Rapid City, formerly of Lead SD, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Avantara Saint Cloud nursing home in Rapid City.

Richard was born in Raymond, SD to William and Ina (Stevens) Frybarger on September 9, 1940. Richard moved to Lead, SD in 1967 to start working at the Homestake Mining Company. He married his loving wife, Charlene, on July 29, 1978. Richard and Charlene shared 40 wonderful years together. He retired after 33 years of mining in 2000.

Richard's favorite activities were camping, hunting, and playing cards with family and friends. Richard was always a talker; no matter where he was, he found someone to shoot the breeze with, even when he went on trips with his wife.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Charlene; children, Becky Jandahl, Todd Curington, Mike Frybarger, Carla Hall, and Tena Bushnell; brothers and sisters, Jim and Arlys Frybarger of New Mexico, Joann and Dawn Collins of Alabama, and Beth and Fred Wegehaupt of South Dakota; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, July 8, 2019 at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead, SD.
