Obituary

Richard L. Bracha, Sr. 78 of Deadwood died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at his home in Deadwood.
Richard was born January 23, 1934 at Milltown, SD to Antone and Annie (Bruske) Bracha, where he was also raised. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He married Marjo Tietz at Pipestone, Minnesota on August 16, 1959. He worked in road construction before moving to the area and eventually went to work for Homestake Gold Mine where he was employed for 32 years before retirement. He worked at various casinos in Deadwood, including the Silverado, before he went to work for the City of Deadwood, working at the parking ramp. Richard worked at the ramp up until a few months ago, when declining health forced him into retirement.
Richard is survived by his son; Richard Bracha, Jr., Deadwood, daughters; Wanda (Rodney) Merritt, Deadwood and Cindy Baca (Todd Harter), Lead; along with four grandchildren; Amanda Baca, Shane Merritt, Seth Merritt and Michael Bracha. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marjo, sister; Eleanor, brothers; Kenny and Tony.
Memorial Services for Richard will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, June 22, 2012 at Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead, with Pastor Steve Agan officiating. Inurnment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel.
