Rev. Morrison was born November 22, 1912 in South Shore, SD, and was a resident of Spearfish for over 25 years. In August of 2002 he moved to Weaverville, NC. Rev. Morrison retired from the ministry in 1983, having served as a Methodist Minister for over 50 years. The communities he served include: Woonsocket, Tolstoy-Senica, Flandreau, Lead, Belle Fourche, Redfield-Ashton and Wall-Wasta-Quinn. He was a graduate of ILIFF School of Theology in Denver, CO, and was affiliated with the Dakota's Conference of the United Methodist Church.
He loved life; hunting, fishing, gardening & "building" ...building character in church youth ("They are Our Future." he would say), and building relationships where ever he went to lead or just to lend a hand. His example and his contributions he has made throughout his Life to the many communities of faith and family are far reaching and deep in love and spirit.
He was the son of the late Clarence and Gertrude Southwick Morrison and husband of the late Savilla Morrison, who died in May of 2002. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Josephine A. Morrison who died in 1982.
He is survived by his wife Esther L. Bates Hansen of Weaverville, and his son David H. Morrison of Arizona.
