Becky (Rebecca) Louise Overgard age 72, was born on January 30, 1953 and passed away on October 9, 2025.  She was born to Marshall (Bink) and Vernie Nussbaum in Lead, South Dakota.

Becky attended elementary, middle and high school in Sundance.  She graduated from Sundance High School in 1971.  In the summer of 1971 she participated in the Miss Crook County pageant where she was crowned Miss Congeniality.  In the fall of 1971 she attended the University of Wyoming pursuing a degree dietetics.   Upon completion of her University degree she began working for the Wyoming Dairy Council, based in Casper, WY where she travelled all over the US promoting dairy products even carrying with her a mechanical cow to show youth and others how milk is produced.  While living in Casper she met Steve Schenk who she married in 1978.   The couple later moved to Gillette, WY.  The couple was later divorced.   She met and married James Conky in 1995.   The marriage ended in 2002.  In 2002 she met Tait Overgard and the two had a long and lasting relationship and eventual marriage in 2013.  Her relationship also allowed Becky to take on a new role of step mom to two teenagers, Tyler and Chelsa.    The family lived in Wright until later moving to the Nussbaum family ranch 2005 and establishing their home.

While in Gillette and Wright Becky continued working with dietetics for the Campbell County Hospital.  She changed careers to work in accounting and bookkeeping for a number of businesses including Deckers Foods and Wolffs Auto Parts (NAPA).   Becky  began working in the office for Peabody Coal in 1990 later moving to full time positions in the warehouse and later driving heavy equipment.  She retired from Peabody Coal in 2012.

Becky will be remembered for being very full of life and living each moment to its fullest.  In younger years she was active with outdoor hobbies such as skiing, boating, fishing, camping and hunting.   After retirement Becky enjoyed being outdoors on the family ranch, raising chickens, helping with ranch work, gardening and enjoying her dogs.  She was an an excellent cook and at all ages of her life loved to prepare amazing meals to feed family and friends.  From a young age Becky learned to play piano often leading the family in sing-alongs at Christmas.  She supported local youth talent as a piano accompanist.   Following in her maternal grandmothers footsteps she also took up oil painting.   Becky loved to dance and to be the life of the party.  She was always quick to tell a joke and warm the room with her hearty laugh and big smile.
