Rebecca "Becky" (Crane) Studt, 74, of Spearfish passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, at Fountain Springs Healthcare in Rapid City.

Becky was born in 1951 in Gettysburg, South Dakota to Sherman and Donna (Spicer) Crane. The family moved to Presho, South Dakota when she was in high school where she later met and married Roger Studt. Together they had two children, Dana and Jeffrey. Becky and the children moved first to Pierre and later to Spearfish so Becky could attend Black Hills State University. Inspired by her paternal grandmother Nellie, Becky became an educator and spent her entire teaching career at Spearfish High School.

Becky loved reading, bird-watching, playing guitar, cuddling her cats and spending time with her grandson Nolan. She also enjoyed visiting with former students and other familiar faces while out in the community, rarely leaving her home without running into someone she knew.

She was preceded in death by her parents Sherman and Donna as well as her son Jeffrey. She is survived by her daughter Dana Studt (Tom Stulken), grandchildren Nolan and Ruby, sisters Donna Conner (Tim) and Jennifer Jeratowski, three nieces and two nephews. She is also survived by Ryan Daugherty and his family who remained an important part of her life.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 25th at 2 pm at Perkins Restaurant in Spearfish.
