Obituary

Peggy Louise Turbiville, age 71, Sundance, Wyoming passed away December 4, 2025 at home with her husband by her side. She courageously fought an 18-year battle with melanoma.

Peggy was born August 1, 1954 to Alan and Julia (Kerwin) Kinghorn in Deadwood, SD. She grew up with her six siblings on the family ranch at St. Onge, SD. While working at Western Way in Belle Fourche, she met Dewey. They were married on December 29, 1974, and to this union Heath and Cori were born. In 1975, they moved to Sundance to manage the Bush Ranches until it sold in 2010.

Peggy’s dad taught her at a young age to love the game of cribbage. They never missed a chance to play the best of three games after supper, once keeping track of who won for a whole year. She made sure that her kids and grandchildren knew how to play. Peggy took great pride in beating Dewey every chance she had, even taking pictures to prove her 29 hand.

She was most proud of her work as School-to-Career Coordinator in the Sundance School System, where she produced 20 career fairs for 6th graders and designed the “Life is a Math Problem” program, winning best new elementary program in Wyoming.

Peggy enjoyed sewing (making all of Dewey’s shirts), stick horses, family Christmas Stockings, crocheting, gardening, flower beds and canning until Turbiville Beef took up her free time. She was proud of the business they built, receiving Best Beef in Wyoming twice and all the customers who became friends. She had also been active with 4-H, Western Junior FCS Show and Black Hills Pioneers.

Peggy is survived by her husband Dewey of almost 51 years, Sundance, WY; son Heath (Te) Turbiville, Sundance, WY, daughter Cori (Todd) Enders, Baker, MT, grandchildren TK and Taylor Enders, step grandson Bren Hanson and his two daughters. Siblings Judy (Dave) Brewer, Chris Maupin, Bill (Teri) Kinghorn, Jo Kinghorn, Ray (Sheila) Kinghorn, Jim (Carol) Kinghorn, nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, loved ones and friends. She is proceeded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Jim Maupin and nephew Zeb Brewer.

There will be a Celebration of Life this summer in Sundance. In lieu of flowers, Peggy requested memorials be given to her grandchildren TK and Taylor Enders for their education.

Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel of Sundance. Online condolences may be written at www.fidler-isburgfuneralchapels.com
