Pauline Robison Lawler, 81, of Spearfish, SD, died Monday, April 30, 2007 at Sturgis Regional Senior Care.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, May 4, 2007 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish, SD, with Pastor Gordon Higgins officiating. Inurnment will take place at 4:00PM on Friday, May 4, 2007 at Edgemont Cemetery in Edgemont, SD.
A memorial has been established to benefit Hospice of the Northern Hills.
Pauline Robison Lawler was born May 23, 1925, in Ogden, Utah to Hardy Danial Robison and Eva Botilla Wilson Robison. Pauline grew up and graduated from Victorville, Calif. Her family later moved to Ogden, Utah where she worked at Hills AFB and met and married Donald Nathan Schoenthal. In 1952 she moved with her family to Edgemont, SD. In 1953 Pauline married Horace M. Lawler. They owned and ran the Tip Top Cafe and later Pauline worked at the Piggle Wiggle (Jack N Jill) grocery store for 17 years. In 1978 she began work with the Mini Mart Company and managed her first store in Riverton, WY and in 1980 took over management of the store in Spearfish until she retired in 1994. Pauline LOVED to fish, play golf and bowl, as well as watch her kids' and grandkids' sporting events and school activities. In the early years at Edgemont, Pauline was a member of the Alley Cats, the first women's bowling team who had to travel to Igloo, SD to bowl (no bowling alley in Edgemont). In her spare time, when she wasn't working or taking care of her kids, Pauline played on and coached the Edgemont women's softball team.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother Robert Robison, twin-brother Paul Robison, her husband, son-in-laws Ruben Heiser and Don Crawford, and granddaughter Stacie Davis.
Pauline is survived by her loving family: daughters, Janice Crawford of Belvidere, Ill, and Pamela Kuster of Helena, MT; sons, Rick (Penny) Schoenthal of Spearfish, SD, Ron Schoenthal of Boston, MA, Dean (Peggy) Schoenthal of Box Elder, SD, and Steve (Sybil) Lawler of Gillette, WY.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kevin (Lori) Heiser of Belvidere, IL; Lori (Mark) Patterson of Rockford, IL; Chris (John) Nichols; Kim Miller; Stephanie Kuster of Helena, MT; Shane, Misty & Jason Schoenthal of Spearfish, SD; Amy (Kelly) Luke of Cottage Grove, MN; Tracy (Bill) Kaus; Kelli (Jerry) Hamaker of Phoenix, AZ; Bobbie Jo Tucker; Wade, Robby, and Tieranny Lawler of Gillette, WY, 25 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a special family friend Sandy Mattern.
