Patricia Petersen, 91, Rapid City, died Friday, September 5, 2008 at Bella Vista Golden Living Center in Rapid City.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 8, 2008 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish with Pastor James Wilcox officiating, burial will follow at Mountain Lawn Cemetery near Lead. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established to benefit the Hospice House of Rapid City.

Patricia was born March 17, 1917 to Archie and Alta (Cowan) Gage in Bow Island, Alberta, Canada. She moved with her family as a child to Spearfish where her family owned and operated Gages Gardens. She graduated from Black Hills State College earning a bachelors degree in Teaching. She married Levi Petersen in 1939, to this union five children were born. The couple moved to Avon, SD where they farmed and Patricia taught school. They moved to Lead in 1956 and Patricia continued to teach until her retirement in 1984. The couple later moved to Rapid City.

Survivors include her children; Judy Bracken of Rapid City, Tom (Jean) Petersen of Rapid City, Jim (Vermona) Petersen of Gillette, WY and Lee (Mike) Baumgartner of Sioux Falls, SD, six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Levi and son Robert.
