IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Orval Harry
Kline, Jr.
March 31, 1925 – January 11, 2021
Orval Harry Kline Jr., O.H. Kline Jr., AKA Junior (Jr.)
Orval Harry Kline Jr., 95, was born to parents Orval Harry and Myrtle Mae Kline on March 31 st , 1925, in Wauneta Nebraska, one of two villages in Chase County being first settled in 1875, and passed away on January 11, 2021. At the young age of 17 Orval joined the Navy upon his arrival in Cheyenne, after dropping out of school, from which he was honorably discharged on April 17 th , 1946 with great pride and memories. Although born in Nebraska and living better than half his live just across the border into South Dakota, Jr. called Newcastle, Wyoming his home. Although he called Newcastle his home, his greatest prize in life is when he and his wife Regina purchased their home and residence of 50 years and were able to raise their family in a rural setting.
Jr. was the eldest of six children, Naomi Berdahl, Jeanette Berdahl, Jack Kline, Joyce Lincoln and Shirley Ann Wiles.
He was married three times during his life with the first being to Grace Sikes with whom he had three children Daniel, Diana and Debbie. His second marriage was to Regina Jean Braun (Jean) in 1955, with whom he had five children David (born on their first anniversary), Kenneth, Karen and Keith (twins) and Jef. After the passing of Jean, Jr. married once again in 2009 to JoAnn McCoy.
Jr. is the Grandfather to 16 children, David and Stephanie's children Jason, Corey and Stacie, Kenneth's child Clarissa, Karen and Richard's children Treva, Samuel and Neal, Keith and Tina's daughter Samantha, Jef's children Dusty and Kellee, Daniel and Charlene's child Victor, Diana's children Chancey and Colton and Debbie's children Hillary, Eric and Ryan. He is also a great grandfather as well as a great great grandfather, which would be no secret at 95 years of age.
Jr. is survived by all of his children, 15 of his grandchildren, sisters Naomi, Joyce and Shirley Ann.
Jr. was predeceased by both of his parents Orval Harry Kline and Myrtle Mae Shank, loving wife and partner of 46 years Regina, Brother Jack, Sister Jeanette and grand grandson Eric.
Jr., like his father was a self-employed carpenter until the time he took a position at the school, where he was put in charge of their maintenance program. At the age of 62 he retired from the school district but continued his trade as a carpenter on a part-time basis. In his later years he still managed his daily affairs as well as keeping long hours by going to his shop first thing in the morning to work on whatever he could find to tinker with throughout the day.
Jr. always told everyone he would live to be a hundred years old over the course of the last 60 years, but his dream was cut short because of his short bout with cancer. During the course of his final months, he said he had a great life and would not want to change a thing during his first 93 years, but the last two he would like to change growing old.
Orval Harry Kline Jr. will be buried in the Black Hills National Cemetery, just East of Sturgis South Dakota on January 14, 2021, with Regina whom passed away on June 11 th , 2001.
